EPIgray - Transit Portal Dosimetry
EPIgray is an independent system dedicated to error detection in dose delivery and patient position during the radiotherapy treatment sessions. EPIgray uses images acquired from a portal imaging system (EPID) to reconstruct the dose in some points of interest previously defined. The comparison between the reconstructed and the planned dose, activates warnings and allows a follow-up of the dose actually given to the patient. EPIgray provides an adequate answer to the radiotherapy safety requirements and is an efficient alternative method for in vivo dosimetry.

With EPIgray, in vivo measurements are integrated into the normal treatment process, There is no need to tape detectors on patient skin. If a significant difference between planned and delivered dose is detected, an alarm is automatically triggered. The results are traceable and accessible in real-time through the Intranet.
